The Senate Veterans Affairs Committee has unanimously back the former Proctor & Gamble CEO to be the next head of the troubled Department of Veterans Affairs.

Robert McDonald graduated from the United States Military Academy and served as a paratrooper in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division before beginning work at Proctor & Gamble - where he worked for 33 years, including CEO from 2009-2011.
