Blue Star Offering Free Museum Admission This Summer

Memorial Day is fast approaching, and with it the official start of summer. This summer, the Blue Star Families, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Department of Defense have partnered with more than 2,000 museums (in all 50 states) to give free admission for military members and their families.

19 Women To Begin Ranger School Today UPDATED: 8 Recycled, 11 Out

The 19 women who successfully completed the Ranger Training Assessment Course (RTAC) will begin Ranger School today.

The Army is running a one-time integrated assessment as part of a wider initiative to open as many combat-related MOSs to women as possible. Although the women who complete the Ranger School course will be awarded the much-coveted Ranger tab, they will not be assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment.

NCO Suggestions to Fix the Army

At the end of April at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, 79 noncommissioned officers gathered for the 3-day NCO Solarium. The NCO Solarium is a unique chance for the NCO's to discuss problems they have noticed with experts, formulate a solution, and then present that solution to leadership personnel - including Sergeant Major of the Army Dan Dailey.

Reserve and Guard New Retirement Plans

The details for the new National Guard and Reserve "blended benefits" proposal are coming out, and while some groups are unhappy, other groups are looking forward to the increased flexibility and retirement benefits for those who retire early.
